LYCRA® Brand Announces "Reality Beach"

A Two-Day Event Focused on Swimwear Fashion and Fit

Wilmington, DE. (July, 2007) – The LYCRA ® brand, respected innovator in the swimwear category, is proud to be a part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami Swim for the third consecutive year. This year, LYCRA® will host “ Reality Beach ,” an interactive two-day event focused on what consumer research has identified as the most important consideration of women purchasing new swimsuits: fit. In addition to once again staging the event's only group show featuring the most fashionable 2008 swimwear collections containing Xtra Life LYCRA ® fabric , the brand will also issue a casting call for women of all shapes and sizes who want to be selected for a swimsuit makeover and have the chance to be part of the runway event.

On July 10 th, between 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., women are invited to stop by the Xtra Life LYCRA ® brand “Fits the Beach” tent for their chance to be selected for a swimsuit makeover with Bobbie Thomas , host of Style Network's “Fashion Police” and Style Editor for NBC's “Today.” Thomas will outfit selected women in designer suits featuring the Xtra Life LYCRA ® fabric, an innovative technology that provides swimwear with a longer-lasting fit, helping it to resist bagging and sagging from pool-water exposure. Thomas will choose from silhouettes that contain Xtra Life LYCRA ® , accommodating each individual woman's curves and shape.

“Reality Beach” will extend into July 11 th , adding a twist to the typical runway show, as the “real” women who received swimwear makeovers will be invited to join the models in strutting their new style on the catwalk. This year's Xtra Life LYCRA® group show will feature key 2008 trends from top designers and swimwear brands, including: Andres Sarda, Anna Club by La Perla, Banana Moon , BECCA, Be Creative, Betsey Johnson, Brette Sandler, Carmen Marc Valvo, Gottex, Hope Lingerie, Hot Tuna, IF, Juicy Couture Beach, Karla Colletto, La Perla Beachwear, Leilani, Magic Bra, Red Carter, Reebok, Rygy, Sauvage, Shan, Speedo, and Sunflair.

The Xtra Life LYCRA ® brand “Fits the Beach” tent will be open on Tuesday, July 10 th between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Oasis Hair & Makeup Tent, 18 th Street between Collins Avenue and the beach . The invitation-only Xtra Life LYCRA ® 2007 Swimwear Show will begin with a cocktail hour at 8:30 p.m., followed by the runway show at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11 th in the Cabana Grande at The Raleigh Hotel, Miami Beach , Florida .
